Handmade Holidays Blog Hop Day One
Welcome to the 4th Annual Handmade Holidays Blog Hop!
A few years ago we were looking online for handmade gift ideas and thought it would be great if there was a resource dedicated JUST to handmade gift ideas. Enter the Handmade Holidays hop! We've gathered over 100 of our creative blogger friends in the craft industry as well as some of our fellow product manufacturers to bring you a plethora of inspiring gift ideas you can make now to give to your friends, family, and colleagues.
Pin and bookmark these ideas for this holiday season and to use throughout the year! Each day of the hop features approximately 30 gift projects and you can "hop" from one blog to another to check them all out.
___________________________________________________________
Hi everyone! When ICE Resin asked me to join in with the wonderful Handmade Holidays Blog Hop - and be the first day - I was hit with a mixture of excitement and then fear! Going first in anything is really hard, because if you mess up you can't change it so no one will notice!
So here goes.....
I received a spectacular package to work with, including ICE Resin, Graphic45 and Westcott goodies. I love ICE Resin, obviously, and I love Graphic45 - who doesn't? But I have never really tried Westcott products before. In the box I received a fantastic titanium knife! This thing is amazing! There was so much in the box that I had to make a couple of extras to go with my main project too - a card and matching gift box.
Above is everything that I created for this hop and below is my step by step instructions on how to create the feature gift, the pendant.
To start, I sized up one of the large hobnail circle bezels from ICE Resin against the printed clocks on the Jolly Old Elf sheet of paper from Graphic45.
Using the Westcott blade I hand cut the clock out making sure it is a snug fit inside the bezel.
Next, I sponged some ICE Resin Medium all around the side and the back of the bezel, and then poured a generous amount of Relique Ivory powder all over the Medium, gently tapping off the excess. I then heat-set this with a heat tool and left it to cool naturally.
With an ICE Resin paint brush, I brushed some jet black stazon around the edges of the bezel to distress it and add a little interest.
While the bezel was cooling I took the stunning sticker of the kissing couple from the Time to Celebrate sticker sheet from Graphic45. I then fussy cut the kissing couple out of the background, again using that super sharp non-blunting Westcott knife. I then attached the sticker to the previously cut out clock and glued it into the bottom of the bezel.
Next, I used the Perfect Paper Sealant from ICE Resin and sealed the whole thing twice - going in different directions and making sure that the edges of the paper were well coated.
I mixed up some ICE Resin to the manufacturer's specifications and poured into the bezel. After 4 or 5 hours I then added a freshly mixed final resin layer to top off the bezel and create a dome effect. Leaving again over night for the piece to fully cure I then added a chain and semi-precious gemstones (Serpentine) to finish.
Here is the detail on the card. I haven't made a card just using paper in years and really enjoyed this little extra project.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you have enjoyed it and become a follower. Please let me know what you think of my projects, I love to get feedback on what I have created.
Thanks so much to ICE Resin for choosing me for the hop, Westcott for the amazing knife and Graphic45 for the gorgeous paper. Below is the full list of participants and how to enter to win some amazing prizes!

So onto my project, it was actually really hard to photograph! I have created a see through resin Christmas tree ornament.
I masked off the edge of the Rockin Robin stamp with some masking tape and burnished it down. I then mixed the whole tube of ICE Resin to the manufacturers instructions and poured it onto the rubber stamp. Make sure your stamp is immaculately clean, if not it will be after this process but your resin cast will be dirty........
Once the cast had cured I carefully removed it from the stamp. I then painted the back of the cast, drilled holes in the top and added the ICE Resin numbers with glue. I strung it with the most gorgeous wide green sheer ribbon from ICE Resin.
Here it is against a Christmas tree in my garden I hung some lights on so you can see the effect you would get from it being hung on a tree.
Don't forget to leave a comment here and go to the ICE Resin blog to be in with a chance of winning some wonderful prize's

Its new challenge day for IndigoBlu
Its new challenge day over on the IndigoBlu Challenge blog! I love new challenge day and I particularly love this challenge as it is..... Indian Summer. I love the colour ways of an Indian Summer, all vibrant browns and rich oranges.
I used the gorgous Butterfly collector stamp plate and Spiced Marmalade, Dreid Marigold and Wild Honey Distress ink.
I smooshed all three colours onto some lovely IndigoBlu card stock, spritzed with some water to make a splatter pattern and then stamped the large butterfly all over in Vintage Sepia Versafine ink. I stamped the dotty stamp all around the edge for a lovely background. I was going to add in a sentiment but I preferred the card as it is and without a sentiment.

Fernli Designs August Guest Designer Project 1: Chalkboard
Hi everyone, today I have for you a little late I am afraid, but I had a terrible time with my video editing software which unfortunately comes over in the video, so it is not my usual standard. Hopefully this will be resolved before my next video is due!
Throughout August I am a guest designed for the amazing Fernli Designs. Everyone is so lovely and Lou has been treating me like a queen! I don't want it to end and it has only just begun!! Anyhow onto my project!
My first project is a chalkboard, I really adore how this has come out, being given free reign to do what you want and use what you want really let my inner Steampunk come out!
I tool the largest of the Oval Plaque shapes and gave it a good coat with Gee-Sso Good. I then sanded it and repeated, in total it has been sanded twice and has 3 coats of the black primer on it. The black primer from IndigoBlu is actually a wonderful surface for chalking on and I am now addicted to making chalkboards, so beware.......
I painted all the Fernli cogs and gears and the flowers (from stash) with the same primer. Added different colours of Treasure Gold furniture wax with an old dry brush. Coloured a piece of cream ribbon with walnut stain distress ink and inked the edge of the plaque with the treasure gold also.
Glued the whole lot down with heavy gel medium and then done!
I really enjoyed the process and it really didn't take as long as I imagined it would, or maybe hoped it would haha!
Here is the aforementioned fateful video, I hope its not too bad to watch!
Thanks for visiting, and let me and Fernli know what you think!

Tag you're it challenge for IndigoBlu
Hi everyone, Have you seen the new challenge over on the IndigoBlu challenge blog?
Is'nt it fabulous! I really loved doing this challenge as I love doing tags but I rarely get chance to these days, just like journaling but hey ho, being busy is good too!
This tag is actually quite easily complicated, if that makes sense. It looks really hard but in fact its a 5min tag and most of that is taken up by drying paint!.
For Full instructions pop on over to the main IndigoBlu blog and I talk you through it.
