Artful Readers Club - Delight in the Details

I am a couple days late with my review this month and I completely missed February's review due to the fire. We are almost back to normal, spent the last 3 days painting up high on scaffolding and ladders and did I mention I dont do heights? Exhausting to say the least!

For the March review I read the book Delight in the Details by Lisa M Pace

I found with this book I didn't actually need to take lots of notes, it was very well laid out, really well written and the photography is just luscious to look at. The main motto of the book is ''re think and re use'' which I love. It has a vast amount of techniques and products which are very nicely explained and used in a creative manner. It gives good advice on what to use and how to use it.

All round this is a very good book and has been placed on my to keep pile.

Here is my piece created with this book as a main influence.

WOYWW - returning to my mixed media roots

Happy WOYWW everyone!! Its Wednesday again, still snowing, actually big fluffy sticking flakes as I write this to add to the already saturated ground. We still have quite alot of snow here and more on top is not looking like a fun filled week for me.

So enough of snow woe's here is what's on my desk. My lovely friend Sandra has set a load of challenges for a group of us and this is something I am doing for one of them. I have neglected my mixed media roots for quite some time now and I am really missing it so I have decided to get stuck back in and make time for the thing I enjoy the most.

Before
First I image transferred an image onto one of the MDF man's cog's

After
Then I painted it and blended it all in.

After
I love how it turned out so much that I am leaving it as it is. I might add it onto another project at a later date but for now this is how she is staying.

Thanks for visiting.

Forever 21 Challenge 2

Wow it does not seem like a month since IndigoBlu launched the new Forever 21 Challenge! A new challenge has started today so I thought I would show in more detail what I created for it. The theme is Words and Phrases.

I am so pleased with how this project turned out. I used the BFF stamp plate, Kroma crackle and wooden hearts, the ribbon is from the button kit too.

Enjoy

WOYWW

What's on my desk today?  Well its a small haul from the Harrogate show last weekend. I actually had trouble spending my budget, there was nothing there. The show has more than halved in size since I started going and was strangely enough full of ''every thing's a pound'' shops which are not to my taste. The stuff in them was mostly junk and tatty looking and you just know that a roll of tape that's under £1 is not going to stick for long.

Suprised to say today that it is snowing good n proper up here in West Yorkshire right now, it wont stick though, the ground is saturated and cannot take any more water so it is melting on contact.

CASE Challenge 131

I have followed the CASE blog challenge for ever but have never entered, this weekend I decided to join in!

First I embossed the black card with the flower in white, it looks cream in the picture but it is actually white, then stamped and gilded the image for the main focal point.

Really enjoyed this challenge I will definatly participate again rather than just watching from afar.

Creativity Venture Challenge 1

My lovely friend Sandra is doing challenges for a small group of us, because of the fire I am behind in my challenges. This is my first group challenge, my personal challenge has already been completed and posted.
