Macabre Monday Challenge

This is the first time I am entering the Haunted Design House Blog's Macabre Monday Challenge so I hope I am doing it right!! This weeks challenge is ''Music Mayhem'' to create a project using a song that inspires something alittle dark. If you haven't guessed it, I have used the Beatles song Better run for your life. I have listened to the other half play and sing this song over and over on the XBox Beatles Rockband but never really listened to the lyrics. I do really like it, it makes you tap your foot and sounds like a really good song, but when you listen to the actual words the whole way through it becomes something completely dark and sinister.

Regular Sunday Art Journaling

Had a great day art journaling at Art from the Heart. The challenge was to pick up a random book, pick a sentence and then turn it into a page. I forgot to write down the book this came from but I really like the result. We had abit of a debate on what machines the new tim holtz Bigz Sizzix die's will work in, they wont go through the old red Sizzix original machine but they will fit the Cuttlebug yippee for me I have the old Sizzix and a Cuttlebug and didn't want to have to fork out for another machine.

Finished this page in bed last night, its a failed image transfer but I managed to make it look something like I wanted it to. You could say more than abit miffed that season 2 of Sons of Anarchy isn't going to be on freeview!!

Circle Journal - Dyan's Page

When I got hold of Dyan's Journal I was terrified!! I had no idea what to do in it for the longest time, then I was inspired by a lady called Megan from the Suzi Blu community. Unfortunately her internet is down so I cant let her know how much she inspired me. Since meeting Dyan and going to Art From the Heart I have learnt to look at things differently and I really think it has had a good effect on me as a person so... Hope she likes it!!!

It started off with the sketch of the face, then masked it off, colour wash sprayed over templates with ranger colour wash's, glimmer mists and crafty notions sprays. Image was then painted and I used an embossing pen and black embossing powder for the writing. I over heated the writing in parts on purpose so it would give a less shiny look and sink into the paper some, I really like the effect it gives on some projects.
