WOYWW 1st September

I missed last weeks WOYWW due to the family funeral, this week on my desk is a box that was found in Grandad's house that belonged to my Great Grandad and is FULL to bursting with old post cards dating from 1890 onwards. I snagged this one real fast!!! Included are lots of scenes like bridges and rivers and comedy post cards as well as the worlds tallest man (the one on top). War time memorabilia and Charlie Chaplin pictures. Lots are written on but I don't know the people who wrote them they are my Great Grandad's Cousins from Cheshire, we lost contact with that part of the family before I was even born.

I am always drawn by old photos and images. It's amazing how a very sad event can produce such a lovely memento. And all the memories that spilled out of that box, whether you were familiar with them or not. Happy WOYWW.

Wow, what an amazing box of goodies, such treasure!
Hope you will join us on the Calendar Challenge next year. In answer to your question, I work in an A4 Moleskine. Some people are working in pink pig(??) sketchbooks, or I suppose you could do loose leaf pages Dina style, then bind them at the end of the year. See ya!

What a great find and a lovely way to remember your grandad each time you use the images. Not sure if I can make this weekend I need to carry one emptying dad's house and it is taking ages doing it by myself but I am down for Journaling the following Sunday so hope to see you then. x C
