Weekend in York (picture heavy)

This weekend saw a few friends meet up in York to say goodbye and good luck to a good friend who is moving to the other side of the planet to work in New Zealand. If you are wondering why their is people walking around in chain mail and horned helmets, it was the the annual Viking festival which I would recommend to anyone that is anywhere near or planning a holiday to the UK, it happens every year in February and included a rampage of warriors through town, lots of hand crafts, live battles and re-enactments and ends with a grand finale of a traditional Viking burial, ie: set a boat on fire and float it off down the river. Amazing festival rich in history.
