My lovely friend Darcy is running an artful readers club this year. For full details and how to join in please go visit her wonderful blog, if you don't want to join in go visit anyway she is amazing!
The idea is to choose 12 books you have and plan to read one book a month, at the end of the month you need to write a small review, nothing major could be 5 words could be 500 and make a piece of art reflecting on the book you have read then post it on your blog and link up to Darcy's so we can all have a look.
My books are
I decided that I want to read some of the many many art books I have as I read normal books all the time. Most people I believe are reading normal books, its totally up to you! Now to choose which one to start with!

Great idea to read these practical books. We all seem to buy them and then just look at the pictures lol :D XXX
Such a great idea! I don't really read those books. It's more flipping through... They are everywhere, on my night stand, in the bathrooms (yes, sometimes I lock myself up and read a bit and come out refreshed enough to handle some more drama of my housemates :)) on the coffee table and I rotate them often too. There are a couple in there I can't wait to see your reviews of... Journal Bliss is on my wish-list! ♥
Oh I can't wait to read your reviews, I have at least 4 of what you've chosen.

Happy New Year Clare, what a good idea. Look forward to your blog posts. X
I have a few of those....I look forward to hearing what you think of them all :)
Good idea - looking forward to seeing your reviews and artwork.
I think I am more excited about your books than anybody elses, i am always on the look out for new art books, but as they are rarely in the shops you can never have a look thru them and so have to take a chance when ordering them. So I will be watching for the ones that you recommend.
I have the collage unleashed but not the doodles one.
What a great list of books. Hope you show us lots of great new techniques. A xx
Looking forward to seeing your artwork!

I have the Creative Doodles book but none of the others so I am looking forward to seeing what you have to say about them!
I am sure you will find a lot of inspiration in your books.
Looking forward to your reviews and artwork.
oh I love the "Doodles Unleashed"..that lovely artist hosted a workshop last year with Strathmore...I was very inspired...still am really...her techniques are so much fun!!!
Great idea! I have "Painted Pages" but never thought to put it on my list...
Looking forward to the reviews!
Hugs xx
Like Darcy, I'm more excited about your bookshelf than any others. I didn't choose any of my load of art books that Father Christmas brought because I couldn't bear to put them to on the back burner for months.
I don't have any of these so it will be great to see your reviews. If we are reading 'normal' books, are these 'abnormal' books?
I have a few of those books. I dithered about putting Taking Flight on my list too, my sis bought it for me aaaaages ago and I've flicked though it and 'ooohed' and gone to see the authors blog but not actually read it yet.
I actually read and reviewed Painted Pages a while ago (in the art/craft reviews tab on my blog if you are interested) and then gave it away, I actually am thinking of buying it to have again as I often wish I could flick through it and yet the author is really not my style at all - am so looking forward to your review and inspired by piece on that one.
I'm thinking those books will help with the artistic side of the challenge, too!
it is quite scary how many of those book i have got, they are all worth reading, especially kaleidoscope (with reading glasses on)

I love that you are reading art books Clare... I have quite a few of those myself... so will be interested in what you think...

Look forward to your reviews & art
there is so much art goodness on your shelf! i have only read one of these books (journal bliss) so i am anxious to hear what you think about the rest.
Love that you went an "artful" route. I have a couple of these books, but haven't really read or delved into them. Looking forward to reading and viewing your posts.
I can't wait to read your reviews and see your artwork. I am an art book addict. I have six of the ones you are reading but I tend to be a browser when it comes to my art books. I hope you'll inspire me to go deeper into them in the future.
