I have not entertained the idea of new years resolutions this year as they never last past the middle of January and are usually unobtainable anyhow. This year I have decided instead to make obtainable goals, simple things like cleaning up and getting rid of crap, sorting out crafting stash, most importantly I want to find my style. I have spent a year toying with everyone else's style, I think now it is time to find my own style, and get rid of things that are nothing to do with it.
Happy New Year to all!!

Art Journaling Sunday
Unfortunately I had an accident and lost all my pictures on-line and off line.
Yesterday was art journaling Sunday over at Art from the Heart. Only 6 of us braved the bad weather and made our way to the studio for a day of fun, a little learning of a new journaling technique and allot of messing. My jumper was yellow when I got home! This one is in my large A4 journal and was finished at home last night in bed, so calming abit of colouring in and doodling in bed.

Award
The lovely Flutterby crafter has given me this wonderful award. I am very thankful to be remembered and grateful that someone thinks I have a good blog!
So now I need to tell you 3 things that make me different from everyone else.
1: I am as flat footed as a elephant and sound like one when I forget to walk daintily!
2: I can leg press 150kg.
3: I cold turkey quit smoking from pure will power.
And now to pass this on to other fabulous blogger's, but here is the catch, almost everyone has it so I cant pass it on to the required 5. So if you think your blog has attitude then take this award and spread it around!
Couple Journal Pages
Couple of new pages from my molskine journal that I completed in November. The first one is actually purple not blue, no idea why it is showing up as as blue.
The one below is the front page of my journal. It has my address on the left so I have covered it up for the photo.

Art everyday in November! Finished!
Well I did it! My goal for November was to do something creative every day and tidy up 10 things. I sailed through being creative every day even while having a nasty cold that could very well have been a mild flu (I have had full on flu before so I know what it feels like). It is easy to squiggle in your journal while sat in bed watching telly surrounded by snotty tissues, but not so easy to tidy up, I failed on the tridy up part of my challenge but I am still very happy that I managed to create, that is what was important to me.
WOYWW 1st Dec
Whats on my desk today? A package from Dina Wakley containing the infamous shaky pens that are only sold in the USA and a journal page for me to stick into my circle journal!! What a lovely suprise, I am totally amazed that we got post this morning, it has been snowing none stop since before I got up and the road is all filled in with snow, how the post lady got here is beyond me! Dedication for you! I think a small pressie is in order for her this Christmas!

Ladies Who Lunch Meet
The lovely ladies who lunch met up today and created this wonderful piece of work, well this ones mine they all came out very different. Inspired by a shadow box from Samuel Taylors of Brighouse the parts were hunted down and created. The photo doesn't show it very well but its all 3D inside the box, they all came out wonderfully!! Thanks ladies for a fab day and some fab food too!!
Also this week I got my hands messy in someone else's journal. Part of the AFTH circle journal, I am second to last to go in it, shall be passing it on to the final contributor on Saturday.
And random cuteness: Patch one of my cats.

WOYWW 10th November
Shameless plug, My e-Bay is full of stuff I want to sell.... Crafting stuff so please take a look, I need to make some room for when I move.
Its that time again....... You may recognise this box from a couple of weeks ago, the results of the poll were to go the way of steampunk. So this week I have made a start on it, no where near finished. Outside is covered with Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutant papers. Inside is book page stamped and coloured with distress ink.
My mission to make art everyday in November is going great, really getting into the swing of it now and will show my progress via my calendar journal in the next few days.
Freddie is doing great, he's been to the poodle parlour and had a pamper, putting on weight now and managing with loosing his leg, he did have a down week where he looked positively suicidal but he seems to have overcome that and is becoming a very happy dog again.
EDIT: The post just arrived!!!!!
My Art From The Heart Circle Journal has come home!!!!!!! whooopppp whooopppp oh my word it is fabulous!!
My 5/50 ATC's collection from the Doone!!!!!!!! It is more gorgeous in real life than in the picture I love it!!!!!

The hearts are taking ages to cover and dry with paint, used the eco green clam shall and so far had to do about 5 layers. the 2 packets on my keyboard are a gift from my Mum she saw on create and craft and thought I would like them, and I do!! So cleaning up: Done Being arty: Done. I don't think I am going to post every day as I don't want to spam everyone so I am going to update my progress of my November challenge every couple of days.

WOYWW 3rd November 2010
Its Wednesday again!!! For people who have asked here is an update on the poor dog Freddie. So on my desk today, some wooden hearts to undercoat later and some dinner menus from my Great Granddad's 80th birthday dinner in 1981. Their is a funny tale behind it and why I am keeping the menus. They will go with the funny tale in my journal. Suppose I best tell you the tale......... I was 3 at the time and being a child in them days was ignored apart from dinner niceties like cutting my food. I didn't like to be ignored so I shouted at the top of my voice ''Our cats got fleas'' and made everyone look, Mum slid under the table in embarrassment.......

Tuesday Taggers challenge
This weeks challenge over at Tuesday Tagger's is Taste of the Orient. For this challenge and my own challenge to do something arty every day in November I decided to re cover a ring bound journal that I didn't like how I had decorated it. The front cover is silk sticky backed paper, I think it is DCWV but i'm not sure it wasn't with the original packaging and the back is done with matching normal paper from the same set. The inside covers also done with paper from the set. Feels lovely and looks pretty cool but the camera hasn't picked up the colours right, maybe because today was just grey all day outside!!

Art everyday in November - Edited with picture
I have been following lots of blogs and you tube vids and ustream's lately, everyone seems to be talking about the same thing. Making art every day throughout November. It does not have to be a finished piece but its all about working on something every day. I think it is part of the 21 secrets that is going on at the moment but not sure. So I thought it would help my funk of late where I think everything I am doing looks the same. So today's goal: make a large journal page calendar. Will upload it once I have worked out the dimensions and done the background.
Also I am going to put 10 things away per day: should be cleaned up and have space back by the end of the month!!
If you join me please leave a link to your blog so I can come snoop at what you are doing!!

Ladies Who Lunch Club
Well the Ladies Who Lunch Club was in full swing yesterday, but this time we didn't just lunch, we crafted and lunched and gossiped and generally had a real fun day. It is so nice to share ideas and experience with other people that isn't in a classroom, it was very relaxing and much more fun. This is my finished canvass.... I think its finished may add more to it later.....
Freddie Update
Freddie is doing wonderfully!! His operation to remove the leg went brilliantly and it is healing very well. He is running and playing and all in all a happy dog. He did have one little hiccup with the stump, he pulled a stitch out with his head cone and emptied a small pocket of stray blood all over Ian's front room, it looked like someone had been murdered in the room!! He was taken straight to the vet who said it was actually a good thing and it saves them draining it later which would cause some discomfort. Today Freddie made lots of new friends at the dog park and was very tired when they came up to the factory, he is fast asleep in this picture.

WOYWW
Firstly an update on the poor dog Freddie. His leg went bad within a couple of hours over the weekend so he had to be rushed to the emergency vet and have his leg removed. Poor thing, he hasn't had a good start in life at all. But I do believe dogs with 3 legs manage just as well as dogs with 4 so it should all work out in the end.
So onto my desk. All thats on it today is a spending spree from Art from the Heart LOL oh and the usual coffee.
So we have Stampotique cat and midge, 7Gypsies stamp set, Tims mini fasteners and 3 new Dylusions stamp plates. Also got some loose 12X12 papers from graphic 45 in their steampunk debutant range and on the boardwalk range.

A sad story with a good ending (kinda)
When you hear about this sort of thing your first reaction is to go, but why?? I couldnt get my head round it and it has really made me loose alittle bit of my faith in humanity.
Meet Freddie - some sort of Lurcher breed of dog. (the reason for where it is laid is explained later)
Andrew is a farmer, he is a relatively new farmer and has a farm in Cheshire, he shares some land with the farm next door which is owned by an old school farmer. 2 weeks ago in the early evening the sheep were making a fuss, the farmers thought that it was a fox so they went out from 2 sides in their land rovers to take a look, anyone that knows rural farmers know they were gun in hand and ready to protect their livestock. Luckily for Freddie Andrew saw that it was a dog so didn't shoot, as they got closer they saw the damage that had been done to the dog. The old school farmer wanted to put it out of its very obvious misery but Andrew being a dog lover and a big softie wanted to give it a chance, off to the vet Freddie went. The vet explained that it looked like, to him, the dog had been stamped on to break its leg and then it had been thrown over the wall and left to die. Freddie now has 3 pins in his leg and is extremely thin and very much in skeletal condition so had been neglected for some time. Andrew had Freddie at his farm for a few days but with all his other dogs cant give him the attention that a mist-treated dog needs. Enter Ian, one of the people who rents space from my Mom. He went to Cheshire on Tuesday and brought Freddie up here to his home, unfortunately as any mistreated dog he has chewed, he is a big dog........ he has chewed through a door being left alone for only a little under 2 hours. Today after much shouting by the wife he decided to bring Freddie to work. Made him a nice bed and made sure he couldn't get out. I spent an hour with the dog today and it is the most soft, lovely and affectionate dog ever. I sat on the make shift bed with him and he hugged me cleaned me and fell asleep on my leg. Again I ask but why???

Gutter Girlz Prompt 44 - I am
The latest Gutter Girlz prompt is: I am, well that is what I am using from the 3 part prompt. I have had trouble adding my work to their blog so hoping that the problem whatever it was is fixed and I can once again join in. So paint is from Art from the Heart's own range of Dylusions, stamps are Hero Arts and Tim Holtz, lady is Graphic 45 and little girl is Stampotique. Writing was done with a Posca marker.
Dunno what is up with blogger, been trying to add this all day. It refused to upload so I had to figure out the Picassa web album and load it manually into their then add it that way.

Circle Journal
I haven't been able to post the last few circle journals that I have made a page in as they follow my blog!! I know for a fact that this one does not follow my blog as she doesn't have a blog so here it is. This journal is filled with amazing work and I had to follow Dyan, it was scary!!! I had no idea where I was going with this layout but it took form quite quickly. I am very happy with it and even added some new tiny gems I found on e-bay onto the bird and the flower boarder.

WOYWW 1st September
I missed last weeks WOYWW due to the family funeral, this week on my desk is a box that was found in Grandad's house that belonged to my Great Grandad and is FULL to bursting with old post cards dating from 1890 onwards. I snagged this one real fast!!! Included are lots of scenes like bridges and rivers and comedy post cards as well as the worlds tallest man (the one on top). War time memorabilia and Charlie Chaplin pictures. Lots are written on but I don't know the people who wrote them they are my Great Grandad's Cousins from Cheshire, we lost contact with that part of the family before I was even born.

Printers Tray
Had a great day yesterday at Art from the Heart, although Dyan was too ill to teach the class the lovely Katie took over and lead us through the steps. Had a good day but couldn't concentrate very well so I didn't get anywhere near finishing it but I managed to finish it today. Background was made with Dyan's paint and altered originals spray inks. Images are Dyan's new stamps which will be in shops September hopefully, I want all 4 sets!!!! Coloured the images with Pro-Markers today and assembled. I had the brainstorm of adding magnets to the back so I can change the pictures and make a Christmas set, it was suggested in class to use masking tape to stick them in so you could change the pictures.

WOYWW
Wednesday again!! Its been a horrid week, see previous post but things got a bit better today. Firstly I won!!!! the whole set of brand spanking new Aqua markers from Passion for Pro-Markers!!!!!! Holy rusted metal batman!!!!! I ordered some items from a new art supply shop I found yesterday and it apparently arrived today at 7:20am!!!! Hello yeah right I am awake at that time in a morning so I haven't got the goodies but tomorrow I will!! I have re-arranged delivery for after 9am, should have put that on the special instructions at checkout me thinks. Also on my desk is some of my new addiction Washi tape that arrived this morning in the normal post and I have allready whipped it out and added it to the pages of a circle journal I am taking part in, beady eyes will also see I have cleaned up some and got rid of the awful handmade purple storage box and have a gardeners trugg now that I made at Art from the Heart in a class - it has tags to go with it but they get in the way and I was damaging them so they are not in it for now. Speaking of Art from the Heart Dyan is real ill at the moment so pop along to her blog and leave your best wishes if you feel like it, I am sure it will make her feel happier.
We have finished the final arrangements for Grandad this morning and have the funeral date and wake all set, just need to work out the numbers for the buffet he requested, so far we are at over 75 attendee's, cant say that many people would be at my funeral!! I don't know that many people!!

Nothing on my desk this week apart from a tag I am gessoing and the gesso isn't doing a good job, think it may have gone off if that's possible, so this is what is next to me, 2 sets of drawers stacked on top of each other filled to bursting and loads of stacking boxes as well as crafting books including a signed by the man himself Distressables and a signed by the lady herself collage discovery workshop book. Click the link in my sidebar and see if theirs anything you might want from my unused stash, as you can see I need to make some space for all the new goodies from CHA...... If anyone wants the job lot of PMC stuff I am happy to do a deal as I never really got into it.

Macabre Monday 50: Foul Flutterings
This weeks Macabre Monday challenge is ''Foul Fluttering's'' for this challenge I decided to make a gothic arch from mount board, not the easiest thing to cut but it kept me busy. The quote was punched out with one of them dymo machines and seems to be quite impossible to photo (if you enlarge it you can see it better), its in a script text and says '' Even angels need angels some times''. Background is painted black then has green and blue patina eco green paint smooshed on with the good old priceless tool my finger, then painted with blonde moments crackle medium then painted black again over the top, love the last part as it cracks instantly its so cool. Image is random angel statue from on-line.

We also have the staple coffee, pop tarts were already eaten!! glass bead gel, eco green die cut shapes pack and alot of signs that I really should just spend an hour cleaning it up!

What is that!!!????
What is that?? is the question I had yesterday about 500 times, well its Ruby the ''Labradoodle'' and my sisters almost 1yr old puppy and currently the bane of my life. My Aunt was supposed to be looking after her but when I went to pick up some things yesterday for my Mom I was told ''Take it, its doing my f***ing head in'' so I have to look after her for 2 weeks while my sister is in Spain....... she not trained in any way, an escape artist and doesn't come back so you cant let her get out or let her off the lead, she is eating everything and peeing everywhere, its a good job I have a wash vac, the things already nearly worn out from so much use!! So anyone want a dog? any takers? its err house trained honest!!!!

Gutter Girls Prompt 39 (Warning Swearing Involved)
Due to the image of my journal page containing rude words I thought I would put up a random cuteness picture from my kitties first and post a warning. So here's Wodderwick and Stumpalina, they don't share very well and were both fighting over who had the crinkly tube then they got bored and went to sleep in it like this, odd I know. So on to the Gutter Girlz prompt and swearing.
The part of The Gutter Girlz Prompt 39 that I have used is the song Dickhead by Kate Nash, now I can't say I liked it and in no way did the grammar make sense but I used it to my own advantage and changed the grammar (I really couldn't stand it, ''Why are you being a dickhead for'' I mean seriously, no wonder kids these days are like they are, they cant even speak, anyhow back to the topic) So, mixed media piece in my Moleskine journal, Dyan's new inks and they have 10% off on-line orders at the moment too, Lots of stamping with distress inks and other random inks I put my grubby paws on. If you haven't guessed it yet this is another page about my ex. I cant seem to do anything different when I get him out of my system, the page's all look the same to me, I think its the anger I cant concentrate and just get so annoyed I have to blurt it all out at once so it doesn't look very pretty.

Canvass Picture
It was my sisters birthday last week and well I hold my hands up I forgot - luckily for me I haven't seen her so she has no idea that I forgot!! Stroke of luck or what? So I have made her a little canvass that I am combining with a couple of challenges. First is Studio L3 Challenge: Multi Medium Collage, Second is Tuesday Tagger's Challenge: Make a canvass which is sponsored by the lovely Dyan over at Art from the Heart.
Canvass and wings are painted with ranger paint dabbers, heart and wording are painted with blonde moments acrylic paint. Heart and wings are made from grungeboard, heart covered with book page using multi-medium. Phrase is from Tim Holtz. Hope she likes it!!

The dog days (were) over
Well just when I thought all the problems with the pub next door were all fixed and a journal page was finished that very night the same problem of noise in the early AM hours started again. Sods law really I shouldn't have done a page so fast.

Image Transfer With Packing Tape Tutorial
If you like this tutorial please feel free to link it on your blog, but please do not take any of my images or directly copy/paste my tutorial onto your own blog. Thanks.
I cant say that I invented this technique and I really dont know who did but I think its fab!! So I thought after a few people asked that I would do a mini tutorial.
Items required: Printer, Piece of card that will go through the printer, Packing tape, Bone folder, Scissors (maybe a plaster).
Step 1: Cover the card in packing tape. I found it easier to go the shortest distance, you want to keep it wrinkle free and smooth it out flat as you are placing it down. If you have really good coated card and really crap packing tape this process is really simple.
Step 2: Cut the excess off and then burnish it down with a bone folder, don't be tempted to fold the tape round the back, you will have problems with your printer. I left an area at one end with no tape on it as my printers annoying and won't pull it through with tape on it.
Step 3: Find copyright free image/bought downloads and do the usual manipulation to get them to the size you want. Please note: If you print words they need to be backwards!!!!
Step 4: You do have a little play time as the ink wont dry on the packing tape but don't wait too long. Carefully place the images face down onto your intended transfer surface and hold them in place, don't let go until you are done. Burnish the back and presto you have your image transfer. If you hold it all together at one end you can carefully lift the none-held end to check how the transfer is coming on, as you can see on my lady transfer I didn't burnish enough where the line's of tape meet but for this example I am leaving it to show you how not to do it!!
Here's the 3 examples together. Left printed on plain paper, Middle the end result transfer, Right the transfer. The good part about this is you can just wipe off the remaining ink with a baby wipe and use your image transfer card over and over or until in my case the printer chews it up and wont spit it out!!
