WOYWW

Good morning lovely WOYWWers! I haven't posted for a while I have been so busy I have not had chance to breathe lately! Today I have made extra effort and took an authentic snap today of what's on my desk, instead of my usual last night LOL So here we go, don't blink you might miss it!

Indigoblu's Kay gave me these lovely reindeer as a gift to decorate for myself not for TV so I have made my plan and started my idea, first since they are wood I painted them with a gesso primer and then added my colour which is in this case 2 thick coats of quinacridone violet. I plan to use the stamp pictured along the bum of them and mega flake them. I haven't chosen the colour of the mega flake yet, think I will do a couple of test pieces on acetate to make sure it looks right. Soon as they are finished they are going on my mantle as part of my Christmas décor.

I have a giveaway over on the indigoblu blog that ends on Friday be sure to add your name!

Happy Movember WOYWW!

Gosh its been ages since I have had a chance to post to WOYWW! Busy busy times round here. I have been holding the fort on my own as everyone has been away apart from me. Crazy busy with design team stuff and helping out at craft shows too! Here is a card I made from my DT package and which was shown on telly on Saturday. This is a charity stamp plate by IndigoBlu supporting the Movember charity for prostrate cancer, a thing close to me as we lost my Granddad to it and it would have been his birthday in 2 days time.

You cant actually tell on the picture but the tash's have sparkle on them too.

Created a few more pieces over the weekend and used the Paperartsy Treasure gold again, love this stuff, I must get more colours!

First off I used a mould I have had for quite a while now

And then I created a picture frame for one of my Grandparents wedding photos.

Hope you all had a productive weekend too!

Pumpkin Fever

Don't you just love a proper Autumn. The leaves all look pretty and there is a crisp chill in the air, well today we are having a proper autumn, not a cloud in the sky, chilly air and bright sunshine. My order of pumpkin spice coffee flavouring arrived, haven't been able to find a supplier for almost 2 years now and I finally found one. It took 2 weeks to arrive but it was certainly worth the wait, I had forgotten how much I loved it!

The pumpkins pictured are my most recent creation which I hand made, painted and grunged up, as well as highlighting with the fabulous treasure gold I recently purchased at the Harrogate craft fair from the lovely Leandra of Paperartsy.

Enjoy! Winter is coming!

WOYWW Halloween treat bags

Helllooooooo Its been a few weeks since I have been able to participate in Julia's WOYWW. Today, well last night I had to whip up some trick or treat bags to give to my sister to take home to her children for Halloween. Today is the only day I will see her before Halloween is over and done with. I decided to do a quick walk through with a few pictures while I made them as they were so quick to do!

I decided to use my recently purchased pillow box Tim Holts die so first I had to find some sweets to fit. I got these and took the spogz things out of the packet.

I cut out 3 pillow box's from the food wax paper as I would be putting the sweets directly into them and wanted it to be food safe. I also used none toxic white glue which worked suprisingly well on the wax! ATG tape did stick but you could easily pull it apart.

I stamped some Waltzing mouse stamps with sepia archival ink onto kraft and cut them out then wrapped them in string and voila, super fast trick or treat bags!

Thanks for Visiting!

Harrogate GNPE Show

This past weekend was the GNPE craft show at Harrogate, I did really well and only went £7 over my budget! Go me! I had a great day and ran into lovely on-line friends that I have not yet had the chance to meet in person and I got to meet Leandra from PaperArtsy eeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEE. She is so lovely in person, I am so happy I went!

So here is what I purchased.

And here is who I ran into!

The lovely Sarah McCrossan who is on the IndigoBlu design team with me.

The amazingly sweet and kind Leandra of PaperArtsy.

And the oh so talented and lovely Sam21Ski.

They all look fabulous in the pictures, I however look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards a few times. Thats what comes from barely any sleep for near 3 weeks. Sunday I am happy to say was an epic lay in, didnt get out of bed till almost 2pm! I sure needed that!

Recent Purchases

So long story short when I split with my ex and had a horrendous time I had to get a loan to pay for solicitors and other things. The loan people said unless I choose payment protection I was unlikely to get the loan approved. This now being against the law I decided to claim back the money and did my own PPI claim. Most people do this through a company you see advertised on TV, some of them take nearly 40% of what you are owed of your own money that you paid as payment for claiming it for you. I thought well they can all get stuffed as it is really not that hard to claim it back yourself. I didn't even have my loan's account details as I had already paid it off. I went on-line downloaded the form which took about 30 seconds, filled it in which took about 10 mins and 12 weeks later I have a cheque for my falsely charged payment protection insurance. What did it cost me? 1 signed for envelope at about £2 and then a further 1st class stamp, so in total about £3, instead of 40% of my money. So I got the cheque put it in the bank and then decided to spend half on things I want and the other half put it in my savings account. I spent some at the GNPE Show in Harrogate (post on that coming soon) and some on these 2 beauties.

First up I am sick of hurting my hands cutting chipboard, not to mention the cost of blades for my trimmers so I treat myself to a proper self sharpening Rotarim in A3 size so I can get my chipboard sheets in it without wastage. See the line of funky pixles down the middle of both pictures? this leads me onto my second purchase....

A new DSLR camera! I love the lumix FZ45 that I currently have but it has unfortunately developed a sensor fault, hence the line down all my pictures. When passing the camera shop I saw this beauty in the window. It is 2 versions newer and cost less than what it would have cost me to get my FZ45 fixed. I haven't had time to charge it yet, only pulled it out the box to love it and squeeze it and call it Fred.

Sorry for being AWOL!

Sorry everyone for being AWOL but I have been so busy and the other half has been off work making it almost impossible for me to get any spare time at all! Things have calmed down now and he goes back to work tomorrow so I will do a update and show my calendar pages then and do a round-up on the Harrogate GNPE show too. I will leave you with this for now....

Halloween is coming! Yayyyyyyy!

Mixed Media Resin Piece

Phew what a week it was last week, I don't think I stood still! Between rushing to the vet's on Saturday and Missing Kay on Create and Craft, which luckily my Mum recorded so I got to see all the fabulous examples from the other design team members and of course its always a thrill to see your own stuff on the telly too! To meeting up with the fabulous girls in Sheffield Darcy, Donna and Gina, to heading down to the Donington craft show to work for Kay at IndigoBlu in the workshops and the make and takes. Finally got to have a rest today so I thought I would blog my latest mixed media piece which was shown on the telly last week.

First I took some resin paper that I had previously made and stamped the Bare Forest stamp in Flitter glue and used some of the large flaked mega flake on top.

Taking some pieces of driftwood and rusty wire I created the frame, be careful not to scratch yourself with that rusty wire though!

I could have done the next part simpler but since I usually make things harder for myself than it actually should be I added the image with jump rings.

Then I decided to add the extra wire and gems, they are a light green colour, no idea what they are I found them in a tray in my jewellery supplies tote bag.

I created this with a large loop above so it can be hung in a window, when the sun shines through it looks so pretty!

Enjoy

WOYWW

Quick WOYWW today as I am about to jet off to meet up with fabulous friends, some of which I met on here at WOYWW!

Here is the official piccy of my new car eeeee I LOVE it, this ones not mine its off the VW website

And on the weekend in the new car we went to Crosby Beach and visited the Another Place installation by Antony Gormley, Fabulous, got some awesome photo's, like this! Their is about 200 iron men that are 6'4 in height scattered across a 2 mile stretch of beach. We took a picnic and had a lovely day out. Theirs toilettes at 20p a go and a burger and ice cream van at the free car park if anyone is thinking of going. 1 to 2pm is a good time to go as the tide is out. The figures in the distance in the picture are more men not people on the beach.

Thanks for visiting!

End of a fabulous workshop

Well the most fabulous workshop ever ended yesterday, Timeworn Techniques by Andy Skinner. I had so much fun getting messy and inky and painterly and playing. We had the option to enter a piece by the finish date into a competition with the chance of winning some prizes, here is my piece. I will let you know if I win!

The theme over at Simon says stamp and show is paint it up, since this is all paint I am entering it into this challenge too!

I took some Christmas tree baubles and then used the techniques and created this little steampunk hot air balloon and dirigible army. These will be going on my Christmas tree this year and every year! Might make more in different colours too!

Left Over Rubber

Ever bought new stamps and cut them all out leaving you with a huge pile of rubber that would normally go in the bin? Ever think what a waste I wish I could do something with that? Well here is the answer!

All you need is the rubber, a bag or box that you can seal and a slim jim from IndigoBlu. Take the rubber and arrange it on the slim jim, ink as you would any stamp and stamp away. Create your own backgrounds and patterns. Years ago I saw a lady make exotic animal prints this way but I cant find the link to her to share so if you know who it is please let me know so I can link her up.

Once you are finished put the pieces in a suitable container and save for the next time you want to create your own backgrounds.

Enjoy

Not much! I have been mega busy! My new car arrives today whooop whooop I go pick it up at 4!! So excited!!!!

I did download an old stream of mine and turn it into a youtube vid yesterday. Funny how you can turn a 3 hour live stream into a 12min youtube.

Quick Bookmark

I love love love to read, and I know quite a few people who do also. When you have several books on the go or want to mark a particular passage a scrap of dirty paper is usually the answer for me! Some people turn the corner of the page over or even write on the pages! For the forever in search of a bookmark here is a quick and easy but pretty and practical solution. You can fire these out a dozen at a time, the only thing stopping you is space on the table.

I used some of the goodies in my latest Design Team package from IndigoBlu, the new Royal Peacock Flake with the Flitter Glue and the Enjoy Life stamp plate doodling round the edge with a white sakura gel pen.

Have a great week everyone!
